Templar Build
Direction onlyThe classic sword-and-shield tank that absorbs damage, controls enemy attention, and anchors every dungeon and raid group.
No published Stigma setup on the wiki yet — direction only. Source: Fextralife AION 2 wiki, patch 1.0.21.0 (Sep 30 2026), retrieved Oct 3 2026. Skill values there are listed at Level 1 before specialisations, so the upgrade priorities below matter more than the raw numbers.
The AION 2 wiki has not published a Stigma loadout for the Templar as of Oct 3, 2026 — only playstyle direction. We will not invent four slots to fill the page. Check the class guide for positioning and playstyle detail in the meantime.
Maximize mitigation and threat. Templar damage is secondary — the value is holding enemies so the rest of the party can hit freely.
Damage reduction and crowd control. In large-scale PvP, anchoring a frontline that holds the choke point is the win condition.
Defensive and control: shields, block buffs and pulls that keep enemies off your backline.
Heavy armor and mitigation. HP matters, but mitigation is what lets you survive burst you cannot out-heal.
Closed-beta testers rated Templar one of the MOST improved classes versus the original Aion, with noticeably higher mobility and smoother attack chains. Pulls and gap-closing tools were singled out as the main upgrades.
Why this page shows direction instead of numbers
A Stigma setup looks like a simple list of four items, which is exactly why it is easy to get wrong. Slots interact with each other and with skill levels, and the numbers on the wiki are listed at skill Level 1 before specialisations — so the raw figures are not the build. What actually matters is the order you upgrade things in, which is why every verified setup on this page leads with its upgrade priority.
No published Stigma setup on the wiki yet — direction only. That is also why the four focus boxes below cover every class while the slot grids do not: the priorities hold regardless of patch, but the exact slots move with balance changes and we would rather leave them empty than freeze a setup that quietly becomes wrong.
Templar is rated A PvE, B PvP, C solo and Sfor organized groups. If you are still deciding between roles, the class guide covers positioning and rotation in more detail than a build page does.
Templar build questions
Does Templar have a build in AION 2?
No verified Templar build is published yet. The wiki has not released a Stigma loadout for this class, so this page gives the direction instead — PvE focus, PvP focus, Stigma focus and gear focus — without inventing four slots to fill the layout.
What Stigma should Templar prioritize?
Defensive and control: shields, block buffs and pulls that keep enemies off your backline. The four slots themselves are only published where the wiki lists them, because a Stigma setup that is subtly wrong costs more time than an empty page.
What gear should Templar prioritize?
Heavy armor and mitigation. HP matters, but mitigation is what lets you survive burst you cannot out-heal.
Does Templar need a different build for PvP?
Yes. Damage reduction and crowd control. In large-scale PvP, anchoring a frontline that holds the choke point is the win condition. Compare that against the PvE focus above — they often pull in opposite directions, which is why one build rarely covers both.
Is Templar viable in organized groups?
Templar is rated S for organized group content at global launch. The priorities on this page apply to both, even though the numeric loadouts are still pending. For how Templar fits alongside other roles, check the group tier column on the tier list pages.
