All 8 classes, four roles
AION 2 ships with eight playable classes split across the Holy Trinity plus a support bucket. Every card below uses the same fields, so the roster can be read as one comparison instead of eight separate pages.
The important thing about this roster is that archetype and strength are separate questions. A Tank and a DPS can both be essential to the same dungeon, and neither is “stronger” than the other. What changes between classes is how forgiving they are, how much personal damage they produce, and whether their value depends on other players being in the group.
That is why each card carries a difficulty label and four separate tier letters instead of one rating. A class can be S-tier in organized group content and C-tier solo, and that is a true statement rather than a contradiction — group content rewards the role the class fills, solo play rewards self-sufficiency. Read the four letters together or you will pick the wrong class for the content you actually intend to run.

How do I read the four tier letters on each card?
PvE measures dungeon and raid usefulness, PvP measures duelling and battleground value, Solo measures how well the class clears content alone, and Group measures organized-party demand. Read the column that matches the content you plan to run — the full PvE breakdown is on the class tier list page.
Should I pick the highest-tier class or the easiest one?
If this is your first MMO, pick the easiest one. Difficulty describes how forgiving the rotation is, and a class you understand will outperform a higher-tier class you keep dying on. Tier letters matter once you know what you enjoy.
Where do weapon types come from?
The weapon archetype on each class page is community-documented from gameplay footage and wiki entries. It is marked L2 rather than L1 because NCSoft publishes class identity, not a per-class weapon table. Treat it as accurate but re-checkable.

Which class is the easiest for a new player?

What is the difference between an archetype and a role?
The archetype is the Holy Trinity bucket a class belongs to — Tank, DPS, Healer, or Support. The role label is the finer-grained job inside that bucket, such as Main Tank or Melee DPS / Off-tank. Two DPS classes can feel completely different in a party even though they share an archetype.
