AION 2 PvE Tier List
All 8 AION 2 classes ranked for PvE — damage, survivability and group value at global launch.
PvE is where a new AION 2 player spends most of their first hundred hours, and it is the ranking that decides how fast you get to endgame. The short version: tanks and healers are the most wanted role in any organized group, while damage dealers compete with each other on clear speed rather than on whether they get invited.
That distinction matters more than it sounds. A S-tier damage dealer and a B-tier damage dealer end up in the same place when a group needs a third DPS — the difference between damage tiers shows up in your clear speed, not in whether you have a slot. For roles that a group cannot function without, the tier gap is much more real.
We rank on three axes rather than damage alone: personal clear speed, survivability while clearing, and how often a group wants you. A class that dies constantly is a worse PvE pick than its damage number suggests, which is why Gladiator holds S despite not leading raw burst.
What each column actually means
Reading order for new players
- 1If you are starting a new character, read the group tier column first. That is the column that decides whether organized dungeons will queue for you at all.
- 2Read the solo column second. If you plan to level mostly alone, that column matters more than the PvE column.
- 3Read the difficulty rating last. It tells you how much the class punishes your mistakes, not how strong it is.
Tier scale
Top tier — the class performs at the top of its role right now
Strong — reliable in the current content, minor weaknesses
Viable — works well with the right build or group
Niche — situational, needs a specific setup to shine

Tier list questions
How are these tier rankings decided?
Ratings combine community consensus across AION 2 community sources at global launch, cross-checked for agreement. They are not official NCSoft figures, and we label every one of them as community consensus on the page. Balance patches move these rankings, so treat them as a starting point rather than a verdict.
Does the S tier mean a class is overpowered?
No. An S rating means the class performs at the top of its role for the content available at launch. NCSoft has stated balance changes land after launch, and any ranking here should be re-checked against current patch notes before you commit to a character.
Should I pick an S-tier class or one I enjoy?
Pick the role you actually want to play. The difference between S and A tier is usually small enough that group demand and personal enjoyment matter more. A healer you enjoy will always find a group; a damage class you quit after two weeks will not.
Which tier matters most for new players?
Group tier. Organized dungeons and raids need tanks and healers far more than they need another damage dealer, which is why several supports sit high in group value even when their damage tier is mid-range.
