Melee DPS / Off-tank

Durable melee bruiser with heavy armor and strong area damage — the most forgiving pick for both PvE farming and large-scale PvP. However, closed-beta testers rated it one of the least favoured melee classes, so its launch balance may differ from earlier previews.

The classic sword-and-shield tank that absorbs damage, controls enemy attention, and anchors every dungeon and raid group.

Melee Burst DPS

High-risk, high-reward burst damage with stealth and mobility — the top single-target killer in PvP for skilled players.

Ranged Physical DPS

Safe, consistent ranged damage from a bow with strong mobility and kiting — one of the most beginner-friendly picks.

Magic Burst DPS

Explosive elemental magic with the highest area damage — a glass cannon that tops DPS charts when protected.

Summoner / Control

A pet-based caster that summons an elemental spirit and controls the field — excellent solo progression and group utility. Named Elementalist in the AION 2 wiki and Korean client; Spiritmaster is the Global client name.

The primary healer with strong sustain and resurrection — the class every serious group actively recruits.

A melee-support hybrid that buffs the party with mantras and off-heals — the Swiss-army class welcome in any coordinated group.

AION 2 launches globally with 8 classes: Gladiator, Templar, Assassin, Ranger, Sorcerer, Spiritmaster, Cleric and Chanter.

What is the best class in AION 2?+

There is no single best class. Gladiator is the safest all-round pick, Assassin leads PvP burst, Ranger and Sorcerer lead PvE damage, and Cleric is always in demand for groups.

Is AION 2 free to play?+

Yes, AION 2 is free to play on PC via Steam and NCSOFT PURPLE. It launches globally on October 5, 2026.
