AION 2 DPS Tier List

Which AION 2 class deals the most damage? All 8 classes ranked by damage output for PvE and PvP.

Damage output is the easiest ranking to write and the least useful one to read on its own, because "most damage" splits into at least three different questions: highest burst in a short window, highest sustained damage over a long fight, and highest area damage against many targets at once.

Those three produce three different winners. Ranger and Sorcerer lead sustained and ranged output at global launch. Gladiator leads area damage thanks to cleave, which is why a tank-archetype class shows up on a damage ranking at all. Assassin's burst is the highest single-hit number in the game while being the lowest here, because burst that lands once is not the same as damage you can sustain.

We also separate damage from throughput. A class that has to reload, reposition or wait for cooldowns produces fewer total damage per minute than its single-window number suggests. Until we have verified skill-level numbers, we rank on community consensus for sustained output and label it as such.

How to read it

What each column actually means

Reading order for new players

  1. 1If you only care about farming speed, use the solo column in the table below rather than a damage ranking — it already accounts for survivability.
  2. 2If you are joining a group as a damage dealer, group tier does not distinguish damage dealers from each other. What distinguishes them is clear speed, which is what this page approximates.
  3. 3None of the classes on this list has a published verified Stigma setup yet. We would rather leave the numbers out than post figures we cannot trace back to the wiki.

FAQ

Tier list questions

How are these tier rankings decided?

Ratings combine community consensus across AION 2 community sources at global launch, cross-checked for agreement. They are not official NCSoft figures, and we label every one of them as community consensus on the page. Balance patches move these rankings, so treat them as a starting point rather than a verdict.

Does the S tier mean a class is overpowered?

No. An S rating means the class performs at the top of its role for the content available at launch. NCSoft has stated balance changes land after launch, and any ranking here should be re-checked against current patch notes before you commit to a character.

Should I pick an S-tier class or one I enjoy?

Pick the role you actually want to play. The difference between S and A tier is usually small enough that group demand and personal enjoyment matter more. A healer you enjoy will always find a group; a damage class you quit after two weeks will not.

Which tier matters most for new players?

Group tier. Organized dungeons and raids need tanks and healers far more than they need another damage dealer, which is why several supports sit high in group value even when their damage tier is mid-range.
