Assassin leveling route

A four-stage route for getting Assassin from level 1 to group-ready. Stages are split by milestone rather than exact level numbers, because we do not publish level-by-level XP figures we cannot source — but everything below is the order that actually matters.

Levels 1-20 · Story path

Follow the Main Story Quest. It is the fastest XP route in the early game and it unlocks the regions and systems you need for everything after it. Do not stop to grind — over-leveling in the starting zone is slower than following the quest chain, because the quest rewards scale with your level while mob XP does not.

Levels 20-40 · Gear catches up

Crit and burst stats. Assassin is the most unforgiving class if gear investment falls behind. Upgrade your weapon the moment a better one drops rather than waiting for a full set. This is the stage where falling behind in weapon investment costs you the most, and it is much cheaper to fix now than at endgame.

Levels 40-50 · Rotation matters more than gear

Assassin deletes isolated targets from stealth. Exceptional burst and repositioning tools, but fragile — one misplay and you are dead before cooldowns return. Rewards precision and game knowledge. At this point a clean rotation with average gear beats average rotation with perfect gear — wasted rotation time compounds across every fight, while gear only multiplies what you already do well.

Level 50+ · Start grouping

Organized dungeons and raids are where the real progression speed is, and Assassin holds B group tier at global launch. You will queue more reliably once your gear supports the content — check the group tier column before committing to a specific dungeon.

Is Assassin a good class in AION 2?

Assassin holds A tier for PvE, S for PvP, B for solo play and B for organized groups at global launch. It is rated hard to play and is not beginner-friendly. These are community-consensus ratings, not official NCSOFT figures.

What role does the Assassin play in AION 2?

Assassin is a melee burst dps in the DPS archetype, using daggers / dual wield. Experienced players and PvP fans who want the highest burst ceiling and enjoy outplaying opponents.

What are the Assassin's strengths and weaknesses?

Strengths: Highest single-target burst in the game; Stealth and high mobility; Scales hard with gear; Top PvP pick for skilled players. Weaknesses: Extremely fragile; Punishes positioning mistakes hard; Hard to master. The weaknesses matter as much as the strengths — extremely fragile is the thing that decides whether this class fits how you play.

Is Assassin beginner-friendly in AION 2?

If you are starting out, Gladiator and Ranger are the most forgiving picks, and Cleric or Chanter let you queue for group content immediately.

Does Assassin have a published build or Stigma setup?

Not yet. The AION 2 wiki has not published a Stigma loadout for Assassin, so this site publishes its stat, Stigma and gear priorities without numeric slots. We would rather leave the four slots empty than fill them with numbers we cannot trace.

Is Assassin better than other dps classes?

Assassin is rated A PvE / S PvP / B solo / B group. Compare that against the other dps classes on the tier list pages — the archetype tells you the role is the same, but the four tiers are what tell you which one plays better.

Can I switch to Assassin later in AION 2?

No — class is chosen at character creation, and gear investment makes starting a new character costly. This is why each class page lists difficulty and beginner-friendliness: the class you keep for a hundred hours is better than a stronger one you abandon in a week.
