Damage rankings are easy to write and easy to misread. Most players asking this question do not actually want the highest single number — they want the class that clears content fastest without dying, which is a different question.

Is the highest damage class always the best for PvE?
No. Solo efficiency depends on surviving while you clear content, not just damage per second. Gladiator ranks S for solo because its durability keeps it alive through content that kills squishier classes, even though its raw burst is lower.
Which class is best for solo farming?
Gladiator and Ranger are the safest answers right now. Gladiator survives mistakes; Ranger clears faster than anything else at range. Both hold S solo tier at launch.
Do ranged classes feel easier than melee?
