AION 2 Character Creation
VerifiedAION 2 puts real weight into character creation. NCSOFT has confirmed more than 200 customization options with unusually fine-grained control, and it shows up before you ever reach the first quest.
NCSOFT has confirmed 200+ character customization options and per-character customization granularity. Which options are locked after creation is not fully documented — verify in-game.
What you can customize
NCSOFT has confirmed over 200 customization options, covering body type, hair and facial detail down to fine features. The character creation preview is unusually deep for an MMO at this scale.
Class and faction choice
Faction (Elyos or Asmodian) and class are chosen at creation. Because progression investment makes mid-game class switching expensive, treat the creation screen as a commitment rather than a sandbox.
What is locked afterward
Which customization options remain adjustable after launch has not been fully documented in official material. Cosmetic systems in AION 2 include a wardrobe/transmog layer, but we will not claim specific unlock rules until they are confirmed — check in-game before committing.
What we can and cannot confirm
This guide is marked verified because the underlying data is backed by an official or directly observed source, and the retrieval date is stated above.
A guide that fills a gap with a plausible number costs more than an empty guide, because you cannot tell which parts are real. Every page on this site carries a data status for that reason, and the About page explains the grading rules in full. Where a figure moves with patches or region, we say so rather than publishing it as a fixed fact.
Character Creation questions
What can I customize at character creation in AION 2?
Over 200 customization options are published for the global release, covering appearance rather than gameplay. What actually matters functionally is the class and faction choice made at creation — everything else is cosmetic and does not affect combat.
What is locked once I start playing?
Class and faction are the two decisions that are not reversible. Appearance customization is largely separate from that, but the specific split of "locked" versus "changeable in a menu" is what we have not fully verified yet — so treat class and faction as the safe assumptions.
How many classes can I create?
Eight at global launch: Gladiator, Templar, Assassin, Ranger, Sorcerer, Spiritmaster, Cleric and Chanter. Character slots per account are not confirmed, so we will not state a number we cannot source.
Should I pick my faction based on the class I want?
No — class choice is independent of faction, and both are made at creation. Pick the class for how you want to play, and the faction for latency and community density rather than in-game preference.
